My grandfather, Jesse Hannon Laughter, was born in Saluda, NC, in 1882 and died in 1957. I am interested in learning more about his siblings as well as his father and grandfather, both named William Milan Laughter and both residents of western NC near Saluda. William Milan Laughter, Sr., also known as Buck was a veteran of the Civil War. I am keen to know what unit he served in.I am also interested in information on my grandmother's family. Her name was Lydia Valeria Maffitt. She was born in 1880 and died in 1964.
