I am the second of 5 children of Remer Mack Wilson and Alma Lee Terry. Remer was born in Tifton, Tift Co., Ga, the second child of five children, to Richard Mack Wilson and Mary Levita Mullis.
I became interested in genealogy after my oldest sister and brother in law made a video taped interview with our parents concerning their ancestry. Dad knew quite a bit about his ancestors, but Mom knew very little. Her birth mother died shortly after giving birth to a baby boy in Winton, Hertford Co., NC. I believe Mom was about 3 years old at the time of her mother's death, so she had very dim memories of that time in her life. She wasn't sure of her mother's maiden name, so I set out to find this information. Little did I know that I would get hooked on genealogy research and I have no regrets in doing so. I have met some family members on my mother's side that I didn't know existed. After finding these new relatives of mine, I went to my very first Terry family reunion to meet these people in person. I also hoped to find more information on my mother's background, but that didn't happen at that time. My mother's cousins that were at the reunion were either a little younger, a little older or the same age as Mom, so their memories were very vague, too. So, the cousins set in to help me find out what information there was to be found. Their help has inspired me to go on as much as I possibly can in order to know more about my mother.
If anyone has any information on any of these relatives listed in my family tree, I would appreciate it if you would contact me
via email so we can compare notes. I do thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide.
