This site is dedicated to my parents, Remer Mack Wilson and Alma Lee Terry. Dad was interested in finding out more about his ancestors, but when he got to Blackstone Mullis, he hit a brick wall. Mom knew very little about her ancestral background. She was just a toddler when her birth mother passed away after giving birth to a baby boy. The baby boy lived for about a month and died of starvation. My granddaddy, Jesse Cornelius Terry, left North Carolina and traveled to Florida. There he met and married a very gracious woman, Julia Carter. Together, they traveled back to North Carolina to take possession of Jesse's 3 children by Annie Eliza Waters. Jesse and Julia raised their 4 children and Jesse's 3 children. Julia never showed partiality between her adoptive children and her children. Jesse died about 1932, leaving Julia to raise the 7 children by herself. She raised the children to be independent, reliable and loving adults. She was a lady of whom I was honored to call my granny.
