I was drawn to researching my family history after viewing a video that my sister and brother in law made of an interview they did with my parents. There were a lot of blanks on my mom's side of the family due to circumstances beyond her control. Her birth mother died either during or shortly after giving birth to a baby son. About 3 weeks later, the baby son died. My mother's dad left the state shortly afterwards. He wound up in Florida where, sometime later, he met and married a lady by the name of Julia Carter. He eventually returned to collect the three children by his first wife, Annie Waters, that he had left behind in North Carolina. My granddaddy and Julia had 4 children of their own: Mae, Violet, Mary Lou, and Billy. They also lost an infant son. I set out to fill in the blanks on my mom's and dad's families. I dedicate this home page to my mom and dad, to my siblings, to my husband, Charles, and to our children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. |
