Notes for Frederic Wright: Was a joiner/general handyman at Marsden Hall, at the time a grand house between Whitburn and South Shields owned by a family called Cairns who owned Harton Coal company. Used to collect visitors from the station in a pony and trap. (1999 - the hall now overlooks Whitburn Golf Course. During the 1960s the Hall was owned by the Conway family, whose children - Stewart and David - went to Tonstall Preparatory school with David Wright, Frederick's grandson).
