Mary Selina Beck (daughter of Charles Beck and Sophia Knight) was born Bet. 1864 - 1865 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, and died Aft. April 1891. She married Arthur Gilbert Riley on Bef. 1891, son of ? and ?.

She inherited a foundry, which went bust.
Spent time looking after her grandaughter Mary Jacobs, when Dorothy Jacobs (nee Riley, her daughter) was going through various marriages etc !
According to Jospeh Alan Wright in 1999, Mary Selina Riley (nee Beck) was a very tough lady. Towards the end of her life she had no teeth, but still ate aplles and nuts ! When she was in her late 70s, she broke her thigh - she rubbed her leg with Metholated spirits to keep it subtle !
