| I am collecting info on the GARNER and WILSON families from St. Charles County and Lincoln County, Missouri. Earlier ancestors came to Missouri from Virginia and Maryland.I am especially interested in descendents of OPECHANCANOUGH, uncle to Pocahontas. My info is that his daughter, Nichati or Nichetti, and "an English cavalier" produced a daughter(name unknown) who, with Nathaniel Davis had daughters Martha and Mary. Martha (1702-1765) married Abraham Venable II (1700-1768) and had Nathaniel Venable, father of Elizabeth Woodson Venable who married Goodridge Wilson.I'm also looking for info on Nancy Calhoun McCluer/McClure (d 1909) and a connection to an abduction by an Indian tribe.Another family legend concerns brothers (twins?) "Tater Hole" and "Tub" Woodson who also survived an encounter with frustrated Indians. Ring any bells?Other Names include: (from most recent backwards) GARNERS--Charles Alphonse Garner(1896-1980), James Thomas Garner and Helene Lushia, William "Boots" Garner and Joanna Luckett, Joseph Marion Garner and Sarah Ann Wilcher/Wilshire, ,Joseph Garner(cir 1765-1810) and Naomah "Oney" Dillard.Other Names include: (from most recent backwards)WILSONS-- Ruth Meredith Wilson(1909- ), John Meredith Wilson and Mabel Campbell Watson, James Meredith Wilson and Mary Frances Combs,Samuel Venable Wilson and Sarah Cox Meredith, Goodridge Wilson and Elizabeth Woodson Venable, Benjamin Wilson and Ann Seay, Willis Wilson and Elizabeth Goodrich, Samuel Wilson(1710- ) and Dinah Mason Thorogood, James Felix Wilson |
