THE NEW CRUCIFIXION

O sinners, sinners don’t you see
The way is now prepared hallelujah
What Christ hath done for you and me
Though were been much degreated hallelujah
And very heaven laden hallelujah
With sin and much temptation hallelujah.

But when we are tempted and when we are tried
We must go and bow to Jesus hallelujah
Who once for us was crucified
To appease the wrath of Jesus hallelujah
What wonder working Jesus hallelujah
Who completed my salvation hallelujah
And while he hung on calvary
Hark here the woman crying hallelujah
They saw him hanging on the tree
In the agony of dying hallelujah
Answering the demand of Justice hallelujah.

O Christians Christians don’t you feel
This to be your bounded duty hallelujah
To climb up calvary’s rugged hill
And like Joseph beg his body hallelujah
It was shrouded in white linen hallelujah
And was laid in the sepulcher hallelujah.

Behold him going to the tomb
To prepare the way for dying hallelujah
They embalmed him with some rich perfume
Twas the act of purifying hallelujah
And what do you think of dying hallelujah
Don’t you think it is very trying hallelujah.

Jesus laid three days in the silent tomb
Grim monitor death to conquer hallelujah
On the third day Gabriel rolled away the stone
From the mouth of the sepulcher hallelujah
Uprises conquering Jesus hallelujah
Into Galilee he walked hallelujah.

Come brethren all with one accord
Let us act the part of justice hallelujah
Let us walk the self denial road
With a view of suffering Jesus hallelujah
Who rose and went to heaven hallelujah
In the presence of the eleven hallelujah.

In few more suffering days below
Then like Jesus will be burned hallelujah
And in a coming day I know
We to heaven will be carried hallelujah
Then will go both sole and body hallelujah
For to reign with God for ever hallelujah.

But when we land on that belest shore
Our earthly cares are ended hallelujah
There will encamp for ever more
That just wrath God intended hallelujah
That we should reign for ever hallelujah
With Jesus our brethren.
