Doing research on the families of Lewis Edward Wright and Mary Landonia Rennoe, of William Edmonds Young and Ruth Walpole, and of William Ernest Roeske and Lydia Karlovna Dennhardt. Expect to do research on some Knott, Wall, Wilson, and Irwin families as well.
The Youngs are descendeed from James or John Lamont and his wife Mary Young. Mary and her four sons left the Comhal Penninsula of Scotland in 1646. The sons took the surnames Sitlington, Green, White, and Young. Hugh Young and his son John came to Virginia around 1741; Hugh's father was John and grandfather Andrew (one of Mary Young's sons). John's son David was born in Augusta Co Va and married Mary Ann Hart, daughter of Andrew Hart and Elizabeth Leake. Other surnames include: Davis, Gordon, Houston, Irvine, White, Whitehead, Adams, Perry, Simco, and Wharton.

Research in Scotland and Ireland is barely started. Most of the research in USA has centered around Virginia,Maryland, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Illinois, and Georgia. I owe a profound debt to James Kimball Young of Springfield, IL, for his extensive study of the Young-Hart family of Albemarle Co.

Other branches of the families have contacted me and I started exchanging information that may help them tie their families to mine. I have seen several FTM family trees that start back toward the four sons of Mary Young but fail to reach that far back. I hope to be able to exchange information with them.
