Much of the information in my family history came from "The Scottish Highlander Carmichaels of the Carolinas", a genealogical record compiled and published for private distribution by Major-General Roderick L. Carmichael, U.S. Army, Retired, in 1935. Additional information was gathered through a series of personal interviews with my father, Alexander Hough Wright, of Trussville, AL in 1993. This portion of my family tree includes the Carmichael, Hough, Mead, and Wright surnames. My wife's family surnames include Alderson, Bush, and Todd. Much of this information was compiled by my father-in-law, Charles E. Alderson of Birmingham, AL.
