| I am searching for decendants of James Parkerson who was my great-great-grandfather. In my line I have James married to Sarah (Sallie) Fightmaster. Their son was my great-grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Parkerson. Thomas Jefferson married Geneva Clementine (Tine) Moore in 1890. She was a fifteen old girl and he was a thirdy-five year old widower with two children. A boy named James was four and a girl named Lillie was two. James died when he was about nine years old. Lillie grew up and married Henry Baker and died June 7, 1930 in St Louis Missouri. I hope one day to find out more about her and her mother. Thomas and Geneva had eleven children. The oldest died within a year. My grandmother, Della Maude Parkerson, was the third child and the oldest daughter. Thomas died in 1916 leaving Geneva with eight children twenty years and under to raise. She did this, I was told, by taking in washing and ironing. And when she had time she made shirts for the men in town. I was also told she used a buggy whip to keep this bunch of kids under control. I guess it worked for her cause they sure never gave her any problems. With all the searching I've done over the years I've come to the conclusion that all we Parkersons are related some how. So lets get together and see if we can find the missing links that connects us. |
