My 6th great grandfather Jacob Weible was born in the 1700's in Germany. In 1765, Jacob received his naturalization papers. His son Adam Weible/Wible (5th great grandfather) was said to be born in 1744 in Germany. (There is some info from usgennet.usa that says he came over here when he was 14 years of age and not 5. They came to America in 1749 on the ship "Crown" from Rotterdam and last from Crowes, England. (Strassburg - PA Germans) Switzer's Passenger list 134, list Adam Weybol, age 5 and Jacob Weibel. Adam Sr lived in White Marsh Twp, PA; he then traveled to Kentucky about 1780. PA Dutch Wible families first migrated to North Carolina for a time and then moved onto Kentucky (Boone, VanCleave-McGary. Grigsby, Rigney).
Adam Wible/Weible, Sr is one of the original settlers of Bardstown, Nelson County, KY in 1780. I believe he was married to Dorothy. Their son Adam (4th ggrandfather) was born on the 28th of Oct 1761 in PA. Adam Jr married Jane Van Cleave, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth (Munson) Van Cleave. Adam Jr and his family moved to Indiana around the early 1800's. They lived in Livonia, Washinton County, Indiana. I have visited the Wible Homestead and have visited the gravesites of Adam and Jane. During that visit I found the headstones of my 5th great grandparents Joshua and Johannah (McClelland) Reed at Stampers Creek cemetery.
It seems that my 3rd ggrandfather Benjamin Van Cleave Wible moved to Illinoi with his wife Hannah Marts. My ggreatfather Samuel Sylvester Wible who married Margaret (Annie) White was born 1836 and I do not have as of yet a date in which died. He was reported missing while on his way to visit his brother in Texas.
The surnames in my research are: Wible, Van Cleave, Marts, Reed, White, Campbell, Munson, Huff, Wilhoit, Schenck, Van Couwenhoven, and I am sure there will be more to add as I continue my research. I will be continuely updating my information.
