Find Family

Greetings! I dedicate this page to my dad who passed on recently due to cancer. He spent most of his life working in the forests of northcentral PA as a laborer and as a Forest Ranger. He loved the "woods" as was the case with his father and grandfathers.
Dad, or "Pat" , is descended from William Auke Wykoff who came to Sinnemahoning from Monmouth County, New Jersey. William A. Wykoff settled at the mouth of a stream that emptied into the Sinnemahoning Creek. The stream became known as Wykoff Run.

William's sons joined other Wykoffs working in the timber operations along the Sinnemahoning. His son Alexander would take my grandfather, Garrett into a bar and sit him on a pickle barrel so he wouldn't get stomped by hobnail boots. Garrett grew up to be an engineer on one of the Barclay Brothers' logging trains. Garrett left the homestead and moved downstream to Keating where my dad and I were born and raised.

I would love to connect with family in Monmouth County, New Jersey to learn more about the places William A. and his dad, Auke, left behind as they came west to explore the forests of Pennsylvania.
