There are no family stories or momentos from our Samuel NewmanSr, that may be due to the date of his death (1925), and some ofhis children had moved to Oklahoma, between 1915-20 and SamuelNewman stayed in Jack County, TX.
To the best of my knowledge, Sam Sr. was a farmer-rancher fromthe time he arrived in Texas, shortly after he was paroled fromthe Civil War as a Confederate Soldier. If his birth date iscorrect he lived to be 95 years old, quite a fete under the bestof circumstances. I know that he moved his family to Jack Countysometime in the 1890s, from Navarro County where he hadlived for many years and many of his children were born there.
