* JOHN AND ELNORA COOK-WYRICK FAMILIES*

Updated August 10, 2011

Along with other Cousins, We are searching for information and descendants of these families. Have a great deal of information to Share, we welcome additions and corrections.

I'm John Wyrick husband of Elnora Wyrick. She created this page and she passed away July 10 2011.She had told me to remove it if she died. With so much work over so many years that is hard for me to do. I probably will not be able to help with any questions but for now I will leave it up.

Received from Reginald Sam Goodwin JR;26 February 2002 "Owner of Original Unknown".Uchee Shoals-Russel County, Alabama- April 25th, 1838 Dear Madam - I and family is well and I hope you are the same. We arrive at your sister's place of residence about 3 o’clock the day we left you and I got home that night and found all well. There has not been many hours since I left you except I was a sleep but that my thoughts have been imployed about you and my bosom glows with that effection that is due to so worthy a lady as I judge you to be. I feel that I could not be happy without you and I am gratified to think that I shall obtain your affections tho' I may be disappointed but my trust is in an overruling providence who I believe will conduct us both for the best if we love him.. Consider my condition dear-Sarah Ann, and think of my little daughters who need a mother to teach them the ways of piety, virtue and industry. Simpithise with me my cituation. I do assure you that if you put your self under my care and protection that I will try to make you happy.. I hope that this will have a good effect. I am a bad hand to compose and also a bad penman but I have not had the advantage of an education. Therefore excuse any error you may discover in my letter. PS answer this as early as you can and let me know what your intention is and if you give me incouragement I shall visit you as soon as I can after I receive it. Remember me at a throne of grace -I am dear madam your sincere friend and well wisher. David Johnson

May the 7th, 1838; These lines will inform you that I am well at present and hope they may find you enjoying the same bless-ing. I received your letter on Friday last and have not had an opportunity of answering it until this and find myself at a loss to know what to write You say you expect to come down as soon as you can make it convenient after you receive this if you will do so. I think by that time I can be better prepared to give you an answer. Mr. Patrick and family is acquainted with you and speak very highly of you but I do not wish to marry any person until am well enough acquainted with them myself to know whether our turn or disposition will suit one another or not. I do not wish to deceive or be deceived and as for your children I think you could get a companion that would be great and more capable of instructing them than me, tho I would do the best for them that I could. As my pen and paper is very bad I think it useless for me to write any thing more but still remain your friend. Sarah A Lanaster; PS My letter is short but my inconveniency of writing I hope will be sufficient apology.

Your ma’s health is about as usual. My own is gradually growing worse. I have been quite sick this week with an inflammation on my lungs. I am today a little better. Joseph is quite unwell with cold that we do nothing. When you sent for your bed I was not at home. My wife thought that she had no sheets to spare. Consequently sent you a naked bed. If you will get as much cotton sheeting as will make two sheets and a counterpin I will pay you when I see you as I have not the money now to send you. I should have gotten the cloth but having nobody to make it up and believing you would get it cheaper at Columbus thought that the best plan. We are your loving parent. Thanks to the many Cousins that helped put this report together with their research and willingness to share with the rest of us. • ANDERSON RESEARCH VA-MO-TX (32 KB)
5-12-04; This is a compilation of Census information in my process to find my "Nally" Family, it is STRICTLY RESEARCH from Internet Census information and a small tidbit from a dec'd cousin. I do not know if these heads of Family are brothers or if they are even related, IT is my hope that someone from this Line can confirm that our Cyntha/Cynthia Ann (Nally/Nalley) Cook was the daughter of Bennett & Jane (Anderson) Nally and after Jane died she was taken by one of the relatives (Nally or Anderson) to raise and they went to TX before 1853. I have never been able to find her on any census with any of the Nally/Nalley or Anderson Family but, on all census that she is listed on, she gives her place of birth as Missouri. Additions and Corrections always welcome. Elnora Frances Cook-Wyrick

  • John Frans Family (75 KB)
John Frans Family; Most of this information was provided to me by Cousins who did the research and provided their family information to make this report possible. This is only 7 of the 12 generations that we have documentation for. My first information on this Frans Family starts with John Frans who married Mary Critz, about 1729 in Henry Co., VA, now known as Patrick Co., VA. She was the daughter of Col. Haman Critz, we have not confirmed her Mother's name as yet, we also do not have the name of John's parents. This Family spread out across the country all the way to the West Coast in a few short years, my Great-Great Grandfather Peter Alexander Lee, son of John G. Lee and Susan Frans was in Texas by 1860. I want to thank Jackie Gibbs, Bynum Tudor Jr, Bob Eggenburger and many other Cousins for their generous help and guidance to compile this information. To the others that I did not name, your help is much appreciated and I hope this report will help us find new cousins to join in our search for descendants of this family. Thanks to all of you. Additions and Corrections are Always Welcome; Elnora Frances Cook-Wyrick- 13 January 2006
