Family Photos

  • Gravestone of Isaac Myer Ephron of London (776 KB)
Yitzchak Meyer, son of Eliahu Ephron. Husband of Fannie. Died 12 of November, 1907, age 42. Deeply mourned by his sorrowing wife, children relatives and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
  • The Braver's Cousins Club, ca. 1944 (220 KB)
Great-Grandchildren of Shlemie and Rivka Rochel (Effron) Braverman
  • Yedidia (L) and Chaim Efron, brothers, of Amdur (135 KB)
Yedidia Efron was the author of a book about Amdur (see links below). He was the father of "Blackie Efron," the famous Argentinian TV personality. Chaim lived in NY and had a large family. One of his descendents is a well known sports figure.
  • Marriage Cert of Philip and Anna (Efron) Schneider (1685 KB)
Typical of over 50 marriage records accumulated. Cousin marriages were not uncommon. Was Bashe (Efron) Schneider a daughter of the same Ephraim Simcha who was the father of the Efrons of St. Paul, MN???
  • Rabbi Noah Effron of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (430 KB)
    Noah and Fannie Effron
  • Sergei Efron, Husband of Marina Tsvetaeva (11 KB)
Marina Tsvetaeva is perhaps the Sylvia Plath of Russian poets. Sergei himself was a tragic figure, a victim of a tempestuous political climate and a well-meaning ideology. Executed under Stalin.
  • Naturalization of Jacob A. Efron of Waco, TX (1196 KB)
This Naturalization shows that the "Waco Efrons" had origins in "Marianpol" Poland. I have gathered many naturalization certificates, some with very rich details of the individual and his family.
  • Jacob Effron and Family, Winchester, KY 1908 (624 KB)
Jacob was a son of Motte, son of Shevach Motte Tsinne's
  • Sergei Efron, Husband of Marina Tsvetaeva (11 KB)
Marina Tsvetaeva is perhaps the Sylvia Plath of Russian poets. Sergei himself was a tragic figure, a victim of a tempestuous political climate and a well-meaning ideology. Executed under Stalin.
  • Soc. Security Appl. for Benjamin Efron of St. Paul (1402 KB)
SSDI applications are an excellent source for the names of parents and town of origin.
  • Mark and Olga Efron of Australia (115 KB)
Mark is a son of Khatskil, son of Yankel Motte Tsinne'
  • Frank and Anna Efron (192 KB)
Frank is a son of dentist Leon Efron of Philadelphia, possibly a descendent of Abraham Efron of Vilna (the Ivenets Eliashberg branch)
  • Soc. Sec. applic. for Nathan Efron of Bocki (1425 KB)
Another good example of a SSDI application. I have about a dozen of these.
  • The Gelberd family (170 KB)
Descendents of Yehuda Zvi Heffron (Efron) of Boston. The Heffrons of Boston have ties to the town of Amdur, Wasilkow and Bialystok. The large family settled in Boston, though parts of the family did not leave Europe and were killed in the Holocaust.
  • The Australian Effrons (785 KB)
The Grandchildren of Shevach Efron of Amdur
  • Charna Weiner Wedding (1318 KB)
Some of the Heffron of Boston branch.
  • The family of Eli Effron of Cincinatti (2074 KB)
Eli Efron of Cincinatti was responsible for bringing over many Efron relatives and Amdur Landsman.
  • Louis and Lucille Effron family of Chatanooga (297 KB)
When I first asked my family about my Effron relatives, they told me there were relatives in Chatanooga. I thought, "That's different." I found Joy Adams there, who is also very interested in family history. She is a "close" Effron relative.
  • The Autobiography of Sam Effron, manuscript p. 136 (113 KB)
This is a typical page of the 300 page original manuscript. This page has the text found in Part I, "David and Victor Go to America."
  • Jacob Effron family of Kentucky (624 KB)
Jacob's son Abe and Louis Effron established the "Effron Department Store" in Chatanooga. They had several branch stores in other states as well. Jacob was a son of Shevach, Motte Tsinne's.
  • The Autobiography of Sam Effron, typed page 46 (151 KB)
Bob Effron painstakingly typed his father's manuscript, from which the type-set version below was created. This is page 46, found in Part I, "David and Victor Go to America"
  • Nisan Efron and wife (possibly) (1128 KB)
Nisan was the father of Eli of Cincinatti and grandfather of the Bravermans of Boston and Louis Effron of Chatanooga. He was probably the brother of Chaim Efron, the Chaim who was father of Shael Efron (of Frankfurt an Main). Chaim's wife was Leah Katzenellenbogen of the famed family of that name.
