He married AMANDA CLEMENTINE HAIRSTON²¹ 1859 in Gwinnett County Georgia Marriages, page 83 ²², daughter of WILLIAM HAIRSTON and LIVINIA TOWERS. She was born August 25, 1834 in Dekalb County on the Boboshelah Plantation, Georgia ²³, and died October 10, 1907 in Duluth, Gwinnett County, Georgia ²⁴.
