Among other surnames I am seeking to expand my Yerton/Yearton information. I can only confirm information I have back through 1830 in Cabarrus Co. NC (Mecklenburg NC) The name of that individual is John [Andrew] Jackson Yearton. I am open to all derivations of the name, as the spelling changed often. Other spellings include Yeardon, Yourdon, and more than likely Jordon.
