The Yob / Hammerstone Family Home Page

I am researching the descendants of Philip Conrad Yob (1814-1863). He arrived in this country from the Bavaria area of Germany in the early 1840's. He married Anna Maurer Dech (1808-1895) approximately 1845. They had a daughter Sarah (1846-1850) and a son John (1848-1941). John married Louisa A. Koch (1842-1924). John and Louisa had three sons: Allen (1871-1944), Louis (1878-1954) and Thomas (1880-1934). The families settled in eastern Pennsylvania in the counties of Northampton and Lehigh. Related family names are: Koch, Roesch, Flyte, Yetter, Young, Siegfried, Engel, Adam, Readinger, Bailey, Meitzler, Kilian, Frack, Anewalt,Romanishan, Leith, Roth, Mowrer, Kindt, Iob and Yobe.
I am also researching the descendants of Andrew Hammerstein (Hammerstone as it is known today). Among the children of Andrew and his wife Anna Barbara Rosner was a son Philip who married Catharine Melchoir in 1816. Philip and Catharine had a son Levi (1831-1906) who married Ann Butler. Levi and Ann had the following children: Catherine, Sarah, Lydia, Alice, Dennis (Tunis), Samuel, Jesse, Mary Ellen, Joesph L., Thomas Calvin, Hugh and Walter. The families settled in eastern Pennsylvania in the counties of Berks, Bucks and Northampton; in western New Jersey in the counties of Hunterdon, Warren and Mercer; and in eastern New Jersey in the county of Monmouth. Related family names are: Melchoir, Butler, LaFevre, Wagner, Gledhill, Lehr, Cox, Pfeiffer, Jarrett, McCollick, Laubach, Faust, Weber, Diehl, Wells, Esser, Lambert, Apgar, Bronson, Ader, Ross, Denton, Smith, Siebert, Rooks, Lippincott, Hall, Deemer, Black, Rogers, Bowker, Borger, Andrews, Groover, Kels, Dieter and Cooper.
