In a letter, from Ruby to Denise Mayhew, Rubys sister Francys daughter. Ruby states that John Roy York, her father, had the York 'Twin Toes" and that his two toes beside his big toe had almost grown together all the way up on both feet. She states she also has the condition, which means it is found in the female offspring too.

She married WADE BURDETT STROUD October 16, 1937. He was born May 22, 1907, and died September 21, 1988.

BEULAH MAE YORK STROUD

/Beulah Mae York Stroud, 80 of 131 Hillcrest Drive, Advance, died Saturday, Jan. 14,1995
at her home.
Born May 2, 1914, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Reuben Benjamin York
and Musetta Heath York.
She was married for almost 51 years to Wade Burdette Stroud, who preceded her in death Sept.
21, 1988. She was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church near Harmony and had
also been a member of Mocks Methodist Church in Advance. She lived her entire life in Iredell
and Davie Counties.
Her grandparents and great grandparents, Quakers, Baptists and Methodists, also lived in Iredell
and Davie Counties.
Her paternal grandparents, William Franklin York and Rebekah Johnson, and paternal great
Grandparents, Jim Burgess York and "Kitty" Barnard, were members of Winthrop Friends Church
in Union Grove. Other paternal great grandparents were Reuben and Catharine Johnson of Zion
Baptist Church in Union Grove. Maternal grandparents were John M. Heath and Nancy E. Jones,
who attended New Hope Baptist Church near Cool Spring. Maternal great grandparents were
Milburn Heath and Mary "Polly" Walker of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and Cullen
Jones and Mary Poole Coker, members at Eaton's Baptist Church in Davie County.
