My name is Melanie Michelle York and I am a descendent from Hugh Stanaland, Jr. who was born in North Carolina in the late 1700's.
I started researching our family tree in the mid-1990's and have had a teriffic response from our family. I am pleased to have six generations of history to share.
One area of interst for me is my Paternal Great-Grandfather, William Henry Lunsford. My grandfather, Oliver Campbell Lunsford, passed away before I could obtain more history about his family. Since my father was an only child, I do not have a very extensive history of the Lunsford name. Any information you may have regarding the Lunsford name and descendents would be appreciated.
We usually have a Stanaland-Johnson family reunion the second or third week of September every year. The reunion is usually held outside of Palestine, Texas. Please know that all are welcome If you would like information regarding this reunion, please e-mail me at coyot143@home.com.
