I am looking for my ancestors. I have been to library's in Marion County, Alabama. The Berryhill, York, Harris, Aldridge, Martin, and Makemson's. The Berryhill's in my family lived in Marion County, York's in Lawrence, Limestone, and Cullman County, Harris's in Winston and Franklin County, the Aldridge's in Marion and Fayette county, the Martin's in Lamar and Marion County, and the Makemson in Cullman County.

On the York side a greatgreat grandfather Daniel York had 125 areas of land in the Tennessee Valley in Alabama. In the book: Winston Antebellum and Civil War history of the hill country of North Alabama, Daniel York in found on page 84, as a member of the resolution committee. The meeting of Confererate suppoters. J.M. Bibb acted as Secretary for the meeting and the resolution committee consisted of John York, Thomas M. Martin, William York, M. Ambrose, and Daniel York with others. In the same book Daniel is on page 143 owning 80 acreas in section 32 NE and SE of NW. Date 10/26/1857.
