Notes for Richard Benjamin: Jackie,
I believe that your Benjamin lineage is as follows: Nathan Benjamin/Hester Smith; David Y. Benjamin/Mary Six; Nathan Benjamin/Mary Jane Nulton; David Benoni Benjamin/Elizabeth Brown; Jonathan Benjamin/Mary Reeves; David Benjamin/Unknown Moore or Reeve [There are no official records supporting the actual maiden name of David's wife...Moore or Reeve is usually mentioned as being a possibility]; Richard Benjamin/Elizabeth Eliza Terry [There is no real proof that Elizabeth's maiden name was Terry but this name has been accepted over time as being probable]; Richard Benjamin/Ann(a) Simeon [Note: This Richard Benjamin was not likely the son of John Benjamin and Abigail Eddye as Richard was listed separately on the ship Lyon passenger manifest and baptism records from Chalvinton Parish, Sussex County, England show his birth to have been in 1602 rather than 1622 as it is sometimes seen. It more likely that Richard is John's brother. English records show both John and this Richard ! to have had a father with the given name John but there remains some question as the whether they had the same father. However, John Benjamin and Abigail Eddye did have a somewhat close relationship with this Richard after arriving in Massachsetts. If John and Richard have a common father it is highly probable that it was John Benjamin of Sussex County, England who married Joanna Hooks (Hookes)]. Hope this information provides some additional insight into your lineage. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
