1. Left Britain aboard the "Clyde" for Austrailia, March 15 1834 arrived in Sydney, August 17th 1834.
2. Born 29th April 1834 aboard the Clyde off Cape of Good Hope on route to Australia. Arrived in New Zealand 18?? Later married Captain W.M. Liddell-trader on West coast, New Zealand 1865-1877. Later farmed at Ruapuke, Raglan.
3. Arrived Kawhia, NZ 18?? Highly respected as a nurse and friend by Maori and Pakeha alike. Midwife in Raglan district for many years until approximately 80 years old. Married Captain James Swann.
4. MD Chemist from Switzerland. Dr. to N.Z. Constabulary during Maori wars, later chemist at Raglan, farmer at Omahu, Thames, later chemist at Onehunga. Later a Raglan, where there were no doctors available, he had to act as Doctor as well as Chemist. .

6. Married by Rev. James Walters. Jane was evidently a born Nurse - worked with many surgeons in Auckland including noted Dr. Savage a top surgeon - nurse until the last 10 children. Mrs Vera Cullen has done extensive research into history or Charlton family.
7. Carpenter and boat builder at Raglan. Travelled with Captain Fairchild for several years, built himself a boat which was wrecked on Wanganui bar, spent rest of his days boat building and carpentering, married a maori lady. According to their wedding certificate she was an aborigine.

10. Worked up to and passed exams for SHipMaster. Was Master of Government Survey, SHip Hinemoa and Tutanekai carried supplies for building N.Z. Lighthouses round N.Z coast. - see "Lghthouses of N.Z." went home to England to bring Governor Grey's Ship "Tutanekai" out to N.Z. - took Mary with him and while there she was among those presented to Queen Victoria.
11. Willie worked for well known butchers (maybe Helabys) and learnt the trade. Then he worked for Nathans at Howick. .

13. Was a trader - lived in various parts of N.Z. and Auckland.

17. For a while they lived in a small farm at Te Mata - behind Watkins store (later owned by Stewart and James Downs) then he worked in G.P.O. in Raglan. Shortly after they farmed at Omahu between Thames and Paeroa then shifted to Onehunga where he opened a chemist shop.
18. Arrived at Port Nicholson, Wellington, New Zealand from Sydney 1850 in Sailing Ship "Sherherdess."
19. Identical twin to Eddie. Both were runners. Charlie ran long distance and Eddie ran short distance. They would run their own races and win - change identities get a good handicap and win and then away, before found out. This was just fun, and no trouble to swap girlfriends. Mother knew them well but was fooled at times. Charlie travelled around alot finally settled at the Highlands, Ruapuke which he farmed until he died November 1936. He was counsellor for the Karioi Riding, - hgihly thought of and respected and buried at Ruapuke cemetery.
20. Identical twin to Charlie. He was the short distance runner.
21. Went to Auckland then Wellington.
22. Bachelor, little known about him and went to Australia. Was charming and a gambler. Mother said he was fun to go to the races with but of course the ladies of the day frowned either though he was her uncle. No married as far as was known. He dislikes Ruapuke as all you could hear there was a hoot of an owl.
23. Had one son. All killed by Maoris at Gisborne. W. Gibbison often spole of her as a most beautiful looking woman.
24. Bachelor went to boor war also Samoa with NZ Forces during the 1st world war. Later farmed at Ruapuke, Raglan. Very good fencer. After his father died some money that was invested could nto be accounted for, so he went to Auckland to interview the lawyers - tempers grew hot apparently and it was said he threatened and fired a shot at the lawyer and was put in jail but after 3 or 4 days he was released without being charged - however, the money, which was handed over shortly after, had been invested in property near Litchfield ( near Putaruru) Mary's 3 children received 15 pounds each in 1912 from their father.
25. Died aged 7 months.
26. Visited Raglan 1939 and again later .
27. Both moved to Auckland in December 1885. No Children. They kept open house for all the Swann Family. She was a fluent Maori speaker.
28. Ran away to get married owing to a religious problem, WIlliam was not a Catholic. They were married in a small church which was situated where the Raglan bowling club is my Rev. Slade December 27, 1882. They returned to Papanui three weeks later to tell her father, who was not pleased and had alot to say, because Mary had not married in a Catholic Church. They lived at Kauroa with the Gibbisons Snr. However, after awhile the strong minded lady decided she was not living with her inlaws, got on her horse and went to Auckland and Willie had to follow. They lived in Whau creek where Winifred was born, 1884. Grandmother Gibbison died and so they returned to Kauroa where Kate was born and then Vera 1 December 1886. Mary died on the 21 December 1886. three weeks after Vera was born. The mid-wife had to leave earlier than usual to attend another case - Willie was away shearing - the cows got into the corn growing near the house and Mary went out to chase them away. The story is she caught a chill - probably pneumonia - could be septicaemia - who knows - she died three weeks after Vera's birth. Winifred went with to live with grandfathers' (willies) half brother Andrew Hume at Auckland - Kate to Mrs. Thomas Mitchell "wainui" road where she lived until she was 21. Vera was taken by Granny Swann and lived with the Swann family for 4 years. Grandfather Swann being dead, Granny had her hands full and overflowing with her own youngest, an "adopted" one (Dolly) and Vera to care for and feed. Approximately 1890 married Clara Stevens of Wellington and then Winifred and Vera went home to Kauroa where they lived until they went out to work
29. Farmed at Papanui.
30. Went to work at Te Awamutu and worked for Americans who came to NZ after the war of independence. A very tiny lady - worked terribly hard died age 86.
31. From Te Akau, Raglan, later shifted to Auckland where he worked for the Auckland Gas Company. Was accidently killed while working in gas main.
