| Thomas Bradford, the earliest ancestor we are aware of, was born in either VA or NC about 1760. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Marshall were my 3rd Great-grandparents. Thomas grew up in Edgecombe Co. NC with James Griffin. James' family intermarried extensively with the Bradfords and James and his wife Sarah Lodge are my 4th Great-grandparents. Thomas and James migrated to Montgomery Co. after the Revolutionary War. Both men fought in the War with NC units. Thomas James and Elizabeth are buried side by side, in Soldiers Cemetary just outside Lax, GA. The cemetary has for many years been abandoned; however, the DAR placed a marker on James and Thomas' graves in 1936, and the descendants of these two men placed a very large marker on their graves in 1976. Governor Marvin Griffin attended the ceremony, since he is descended from James. The inscription commends both men for their Revolutionary War service. I need-THOMAS' PARENTS, THOMAS AND ELIZABETH'S MARRIAGE DATE AND PLACE. I am researching the following sirnames: Marshall Lodge Hall Curry Corbitt Lott Roberts Meeks Ryner/Riner Any help will be greatly appreciated. Will be happy to share in any way I can. |
