Teofil Malaczewski (son of John Malczeska and Mary Okraszka) was born February 18, 1875 in Plozk, Poland, and died August 07, 1949 in Porterville CA.

Teofil entered the United States on December 19, 1903 aboard the S.S. Amsterdam which landed at Ellis Island. It states that he went to Grand Rapids to live with his brother, John who lived at 314 North Diamond.

We now have the naturalization papers with Teofil's picture included. His AKA was David Wilson Miller and the obituary from the Porterville Evening Recorder says that he was found by 2 missionaries from the Mormon Church. When they peered in the window of his residence they saw him lying across the bed with his feet on the floor. He apparently died from natural causes and had been ill for some time.

Teofil was 5'3" and weighed 135 pounds. He had grey hair and blue eyes per his naturalization papers which are dated 24 Nov 1944.

His death certificate lists Harry Zeboor as the informant. He is listed by St. Isadore's Church in Grand Rapids as Harry's godfather.
He was naturalized in 1944 in Tulare County CA
Teofil never married. He had lived in the Porterville area for 35-40 years.


He was known as Uncle Dave to the family and owned a bakery in Porterville.
