She was born 1754 in Wythe County, Virginia8,9, and died February 01, 1760 in Abbeville District, South Carolina10.

State of South Carolina, Abbeville District- In the name of God Amen!!!

I Thomas Ward of the District and State aforesaid being aged and frail of body but of sound & disposing mind memory and understanding Do make ordain and apparent this as my last Will and testament, to wit.

1st I will and want that all my just debts be paid.

2nd I give and will to my son Peter Ward the tract of land on which I now live containing about seventy five acres, on condition that he pays within two years after my death two hundred dollars to my Executor to be by him equally divided among my four daughters Betsy Vernon, Rebecca Vernon, Sally Ward, and Rachel Gillispie. But if my said son Peter Ward should fail or refuse to pay the said sum of two hundred dollars within the time above mentioned, then it is my will and desire that the said tract of land be sold by my Executor and the proceeds of the said sale be equally divided among my above named four daughters.

3rd All the rest and residue of my property I will to want to be sold and the proceeds thereof to be divided as follows- To my Daughter Sally Ward one hundred fifty dollars, a horse colt foaled the last spring from a mare called Cate, and two beds and furniture, these are the fruits of her own labor but I mention them to prevent trouble disputes. To my grandchildren James Ward, Peter Ward, and Margaret Ward children of William Ward deceased I give ten dollars each. To my granddaughter Mary Caldwell Ward, Jean Ward, and Anney Ward daughters of Joseph Ward deceased I give ten dollars each. To my daughter Nancy Cook I give sixty dollars. To my son Walter H. Ward I give ten dollars. Whatsoever may remain after paying the above legasies I want to be equally
divided among my four dauthers Betsy Vernon, Rebecca Vernon, Sally Ward, and Rachel Gillespie-

And I do hereby appoint Ezekiel Calhoun as sole executor of this my last will and testament. And I do revoke annul and make void all others and forever will or wills, sweres or bequests by me heretofore made and pronounce and declare this and no other and for my last will and testament.- Given under my hand I seal this first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifteen.
