This family traces genealogy on my mother's side of the family. I am actively looking for other LIMARDO's and also trying to trace the SESSA's who came from Italy around 1880. Since my last update, we have welcomed Jessica into the family! I have also spoken to second cousin Efrain, who was able to give me a lot of family history and pictures too! (We'll see if we can get some pictures to the 'site next time around!). Thanks, Efrain, for answering my letter!!! I look forward to sharing more family info as it becomes available! I was able to find Teresa, Julio and Luis Limardo on the 1920 census.....Teresa's father was born in Spain, her mother in Puerto Rico, and she didn't speak any English! Also, both Limardo boys listed their occupations at the time as being dishwashers in the Hotel Vanderbilt. They earned hourly wages at this job (the questions the census asked!). Also, the census gives the variant spellings of their first names: "Theresa", "Julius", "Louis". Also in the census area, I found Nannie's family....she was #6 in a family of 11 kids! Sounds familiar..... :) I filled in all the info I have about all the Sessa kids. More to come, hopefully.... Keep the updates coming! |
