Notes for A
BRAHAM POOR:
9 Oct 1744 Abraham was a witness to a deed of conveyance from Thomas (III) Poor, his father, to Thomas & Elizabeth Poor, his brother & sister-in-law.
9 Oct 1744 - Goochland County Deed Book 4, pp 434-435:
"Thomas POOR, SR. of HANOVER County for love and affection to loving son Thomas Poor, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Goochland County... 200 acres in Goochland on north side of James River bounded by James George's land, Arthur Hopkins. Dated 9 October 1744. Witnesses: James George, Abraham Poor, Robert Estes, Jr. 16 Oct. 1744, Thomas Poor, Sr. acknowledged this deed which was ordered recorded. Susannah, his wife, privately examined, relinquished her right of dower in land." Source [L-05]\\

Per Edna Barney's website, Neddy's Nook on the Net, she has the following listed for Abraham in his role in the Revolutionary War:
"On 2 August 1777, Abram Poore signed the Goochland County, Virginia Oath of Allegiance. his name being number 18 on the list of W. Harrison, from the Ann Waller Reddy Collection, box B, file 2, FC, "List of Oaths of Allegiance," at the DAR Library. Abraham Poor contributed 4 bushels of wheat and carriage to the Revolutionary cause, from Virginia Publick Claims, page 5, Goochland County, Virginia List 1, 1780-1781. He provided 1 peck of cornmeal, 76 pounds of pork, 72 pounds of bacon, 1 pound of salt, 1 large bullock and 275 pounds of beef for Continental and State use, recorded in Goochland County. Virginia Court Booklet dated 19 March 1782. He again gave 250 pounds of beef and one gun for State use."

Abraham contributed to the Revolutionary War effort with goods & sundries to the State Militia and Continental Line. The publication Virginia 'Publick' Claims: Goochland County, Transcribed by Janice L. Abercrombie & Richard Slatten from the original Revolutionary Claims at the Library of Virginia & published by Iberian Publishing Co. of Athens, GA reports the following:
Pg. 1, Goochland Court Booklet, A Court of Publick Claims held for Goochland County 19 March

From 1759-1771 Thomas served St. James Parish, Goochland, Virginia as a processioner of land boundaries. Found in the St. James Northam Parish Vestry Book 1744-1850 are the following entries:
Vestry Entry: 22 Oct 1759, Pg. 34: "John Page, Sr. and Abraham Poor lands that Thomas Poor and William Swift did in 1755" [Thomas Poor is the brother of Abraham]

Side Note: When I found these records I had no idea what a 'processioner' was. The following was found at thinkexist.com/dictionary:
Processioner, 3. (n.) An officer appointed to procession lands

State of Virginia            \
Goochland County      ss.\
On the 19th day of August 1833, personally app =eared in open Court before the court of County aforesaid now sitting Thomas Poor, a resident of the said County and State, aged Seventy eight years who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefits of the act of Congress, passed Jun 7, 1833
That having served in the Regular and Militia service both, he will set forth his services in the order in which they were tendered – that in August 1777 he was drafted from the millitia[sic] of the county of Cumberland and was a private in the company of Allen or Wilson, he does not recollect which marched in his Company to Williamsburg, then to Hampton and then back to Wms’Burg and was discharged having served two months that he saw the [undecipherable] shiping[sic] on the Bay, but was in a battle does not remember his Colonel nor any regular troops and that he saw Henry then Genl That in February 1778 he then living in the county of Goochland enlisted at the court House of the county with Capt Morris the 9th Regiment as sergeant for one year – marched North immediately – was inseculated with the smal[sic] pox at Dunifrees and had the disease at Alexandria – and joined the continental army at Valley Forge in the latter part of March – Col. Ball commanded the 9th Va Regiment but this having been much cut up at Brandywine and Germantown was soon broken up and he was attached to the 1st Va regiment that he was in Muhlenburg’s Brigade, he cannot recollect the Cols or Majors name but Kendal was Captain and Steele Lieutenant that the length of time has obliterated from his memory many of the officers names, but he can remember Genl Washington distinctly and Genl Muhlenburg that the army marched from the Valey[sic] forge[sic] in June and pursued the enemy – had a battle at Monmouth in the latter part of the same month, but he was sick and was not present – joined the army again and marched to the white Plains and then to West Point where the Regiment stationed stationed[sic] for a month perhaps – again crossed the North River and marched to MiddleBrook and BondBrook in the Jerseys where the army took up winter quarters, and he was discharged in Jan’y and was marched back in a company of Capt Payne – and reached home in the end of Feb’r – That immediately on his return he substit =uted himself but cannot recollect for whom, and marched as private from the same county, in the company of Militia under Capt Card to the albemarle[sic] Barraches[sic] – served two months at that place in guarding the Prisoners of War and was discharged – And in the latter part of the same year he again substituted himself but cannot recolect[sic] the person for whom, and marched a private in the Goochland Militia under Captain Richardson to the same place and served the same length of time in the same occupation, and was discharged. Col Taylor commanded at the Barracks and there were some state troops there – Fontaine was [decipherable] Col. – That was the spring of the year 1781 when Cornwallis invaded the state he was drafted and marched from the county of Goochland as Sargeant[sic] in the company of Militia from that county under Capt Miller – rendezevous at Richmond and was put under Col Pleasants – remained at Richmond some days, and while there the enemy came to Manchester and burned the row houses at Richmond Genl Lafayette found them his army and encamped at the Ropeworks from Richmond the regiment under Pleasants marched down the river and at Cooke’s he saw the enemy take the shiping[sic] and blowup the vessels – Marched down the river and at a place called Cedarpoint[sic] one of the enemies ships had run aground and a British deserter informing Col. Pleasants that if he would attack it with a chosen party he would be able to take it the Cols detached Sixty men with him to attack it – They marched down to the beach and forced thier[sic] muskets at the vessel which returned the fire with artillery and small arms – and after firing several rounds he received a musket Ball in his thigh which disabled him – The party having retreated he was compelled to scramble through the Brush for fifty yards and met a comrade named Morton who assisted him off the fields. He was put under the care of the surgeon and sent off to Richmond then to the slash Church in Hanover and then home and that in this town he was in services at least one and a half months – that in consideration of his wound he has for some years received a pension of forty Dollars per annum, but concerned that this should not bar his present claim – That he never received a writen[sic] discharge nor had his sergeants [undecipherable] either time and that he had no documentary evidence – That he can prove some part of his Military service by John Martin and William Busby and [remainder of line undecipherable] procure no testimony and that he refers to Revs Lewis Chaudorn and Archd Bryan for his character and the reputation of him having been a soldier of the Revolution – He hereby relinquishes every claim whatsoever to any future pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension rolls of the agency of any other state than the state of Virginia.
