| I have begun my research with my maternal grandfather's family. CHARLES BLANFORD SMITH was born April 27, 1925, in Bertrand, Mississippi Co., MO, the son of WILLIE BLANFORD PRESSON and FRANK OBEART SMITH. Willie was born in 1896 in Bertrand to LOU BLANFORD and SAMUEL ALATTIE PRESSON; Lou was the daughter of LOVINA CATHERINE LETT and ROBERT BLANFORD, Samuel the son of LOUISA JANE GREER and JAMES JARRETT PRESSON. Frank was born in 1892 in Terrell Switch, TN, the son of ANNA WYNN and JAMES SMITH; Anna was the daughter of NARCISSUS P. and HARLAN WYNN. I do not know of James Smith's parents. I have found information on the PRESSON branch that links us to NICHOLAS PRESSON, born in 1670. There is an abundance of information on the LETTs, but I am still working out how we fit into that puzzle. On the BLANFORD, WYNN, and SMITH lines I have almost no information--only what my grandmother could remember. I would also like to find out about MAGGIE RAY FAIRHURST, who became Willie Presson Smith's step-mother when "Mom Smith" was just two years old. I welcome any assistance with this endeavor, and I am more than happy to share the information I have. |
