* "Kelso Family of Trenton, Mo"*

Updated December 19, 2003

I'm looking for Scottish Kelso's that came to the US approx. at the end of the 1700's. I began with my Grandfather Emery Warren Kelso, who's father was Robert Dale Kelso born 1/20/1894 in Galt, Missouri. Robert Dale's father was Joseph Warren Kelso born 3/20/1860 in Rushville, IL. Joseph Warren's father was William R. Kelso born 4/19/1824 in Dearborn Co., Indiana. William R's father was Robert Kelso who was born in Scotland, came into the U.S. through NY, (may have come with 5 brothers and a sister, with parents following later). While in NY Robert Kelso married a Helen (or Ellen) Belnap(or Bunap or Belknap) and then settled in Dearborn County, Indiana.

Their children were:

James b.1810 in NY m.Fanny Allen,
Harvey David b.1811 m. Mary J. McClure,
Joseph Kelso b.1813,
John Kelso b.1814 m. Nancy Dimmick,
Henry Kelso b.1817 in Indiana m. Catharine Carroll,
Helen (Ellen) Kelso b.1822 m. Joshua Lewis,

William R. Kelso b.4/19/1824 in Dearborn Co., Ind. d. 6/28/1896 buried in Stucker Cemetary, Laredo, MO m. Elizabeth Gregg b.3/1/1833 d.12/21/1913 buried in Stucker Cemetary, Laredo, MO

This is where I've lost the trail.
