Hi there, nice to be with you, happy you could stick around! The majority of my family settled in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The first instance I have of the Zimmermans was in Plymouth, Luzerne County in 1870; the Rydzewskis first show up in Kingston, Luzerne County in 1900; the Rutkowskis appear in Edwardsville, Luzerne County in 1910 (coming via Perth Amboy, NJ and New Haven, CT) and later moved to Kingston. I just recently found the parents of my great-grandmother, Phoebe Carris, on the 1860 Abington Twp., Luzerne Co., PA Census. I have them there in 1870, as well. 1880 finds them in Dickson City, Lackawanna Co., PA as well as 1900. By this point, Samuel (her father) has passed on. Her mother, Elizabeth (whose maiden name I believe to be Courtwright) is living with three adult children (Samuel, George and Ellen Rafferty). Now I need to concentrate on the Courtwrights. Seeing as you're here, I hope you find something of interest or, perhaps, something to help you out. I welcome any comments or corrections and I hope you enjoy my work in progress. Ben
