I am researching Jessie Cameron McChesney's ascendants and descendants. It is believed that Jessie Cameron is the daughter of John and Isabella (Ross) Cameron. She was born March 6th, 1853 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her father was a Tailor and at the time of her birth her parents lived at 28 Candlemakerrow. Her given name was Janet but she was called Jessie most of her life.
Jessie married David N. McChesney. It is believed that they were married 7/16/1872 in Cook County Illinois. It is also believed that David is the son of Andrew and Isabella (Nicoll) McChesney and born approximately 1850 in Dundee City, Angus County, Scotland. These two people traveled from Scotland to the United States where they lead a gypsy stlye life because David's work followed railroad construction across the nation.
Of their children that lived to adulthood four were born in Kansas, one in Mexico, and one in Texas. Their children went out to build their lives in New Mexico, California and as far as Montana. It is believed that David N McChesney did not stop with traversing throughout the United States but went on to go to the Phillipines and Japan possibly at the expense of his family by abandoning them. This is my attempt to find out what happened to these people and how I came to be "me".
