| I am researching the Zimmerman family of Garrett County, MD. John Zimmerman first appears in the 1860 Federal Census in Somerset County, PA with his wife, Annie and son, William. Their descendants eventually relocated to Garrett County, MD. I am also researching Reckner, Mellinger, Smith, Phillippi, & Hoop families - all of these were at one time in Somerset County, PA.
