Thanks to Derick Hartshorn, this
side of the family can be traced in an uninterrupted line to James (?)
Hartshorn, who was born around 1775. His excellent book is available for sale
through his website.1
Through the Hartshorn line I am
able to claim descent from the kings of England and France, from the emperors
of Byzantium, from the czars of Russia and many other European royal and noble
familes, including Charlemagne. For those interested, these lines can be traced
through Mary Gye (on my Haynes-Martin-Manning side). I also
descend from three persons who arrived in America on the Mayflower: Edward Fuller and his wife and son Samuel.
