Notes for Elisabetta Ferri: At the time of her son Vincenzo's marriage, Elisabetta lived with him at Strada Santa Caterina, in Monopoli.
Pirrelli cites sources that claim the Ferri clan descends from the counts of Beaumont, in Flanders, and followed Robert Guiscard and his Norman army to Italy in the eleventh century, settling in Rome, Venice, Lecce and elsewhere. He claims that three separate branches of the family later settled in Monopoli from Venice, Lecce and Ascoli.
Pirrelli notes that an Antonio Ferro served as mayor of Monopoli in 1443, and that a Salamina Ferro was a renowned doctor to the Prince of Taranto in 1448. Marco Ferro and Giovanni Antonio Ferro are listed by Lanera as noblemen of Monopoli in 1583.
