Fannie Schoener's brother John took over the Zulick Shoe Co. from Thomas Hart Benton Zulick. He went into partnership with THBZ's son Lin Benton Zulick

FAMILY STORY: Fannie is said to have traveled alone by train to Louisiana to recover her son, Lin Benton Zulick, from the Army when he fell sick with typhoid before shipping out to serve in the Spanish American War. She was also remembered for her peach ice cream and her hatred of FDR.
