Lin Benton Zulick (b. October 19, 1879, d. 1953)

Lin Benton Zulick (son of Thomas Hart Benton Zulick and Fannie Louisa Shoener) was born October 19, 1879, and died 1953. He married Margaret Maurer Diefenderfer on April 20, 1909, daughter of George Clinton Diefenderfer and Mary Ellen Maurer.

Notes for Lin Benton Zulick:

Volunteered for the Spanish American War. Never saw action, because he caught typhoid before shipping out. Was recovered by his mother Fannie. Went into partnership with his uncle John Schoener to run Zulick Shoe Co. Strong conservative political views. Voted Republican. Hated FDR. Loved German culture. His letters to three of his sons, John, Lin, and Philip, studying in Germany in the 30's, are preserved.

Lin and his wife Margaret Diefenderfer are said to have discovered they were third cousins, both related to the Mayers (ancestor: Philipp Mayer).
